Rosemary’s Baby

2 oz. Belle Isle Ruby Red Grapefruit
1/2 oz. MOTHER shrub Grapefruit Shrub
3 oz. Tonic water (We like Jack Rudy Small Batch Tonic.)
1 Sprig of rosemary
Optional Garnish: grapefruit peel or wedge

Add grapefruit shrub and rosemary sprig to a mixing glass and gently muddle. Top with ice and add Belle Isle Ruby Red Grapefruit. Stir, then strain into a glass over fresh ice. Top with tonic water, and garnish additionally with a grapefruit wedge or peel.

Moonstruck Mule

1 1/2  oz. MOTHER shrub Ginger
1 1/2 oz. Belle Isle Honey Habanero Moonshine
2-3 oz seltzer water
Juice of 1/2 lime

Add moonshine and ginger shrub to an ice-filled copper mug or highball glass. Add lime juice and top with seltzer water. Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy!

Variation: Use a generous splash of MOTHER shrub lime instead of juice and ginger beer in place of ginger shrub.

Grapefruit Mint Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 part grapefruit MOTHER shrub
  • 1 part Tito's Vodka or your choice of spirit
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • 2 parts seltzer or sparkling water
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Ice

Gently crush mint in the bottom of the glass. Add shrub and spirits. Top with seltzer and ice. Squeeze in the juice of a lime wedge. Stir. Serve with lime as garnish. If the flavor is too sour for you, add a bit of sugar to taste.

Jalapeno and Grapefruit Hummus

3 14.5 ounce cans of chick peas, drained (reserving some if desired)
1 large clove of garlic, pressed
1 jalapeno, stemmed with seeds removed if desired
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 – 3/4 cup of olive oil
splash of grapefruit MOTHER shrub (1/2 to 3/4 ounce*)

Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor and process until smooth. Add more olive oil (or reserved liquid) if too thick. Add more garlic, jalapeno, and shrub to taste. Serve at room temperature.
* 1/2 ounce = 1 Tablespoon
